Tipping points special edition of Environmental Scientist

Earlier this year I had the good fortune to contribute an article to a special edition of the Environmental Scientists – Degrees of disorder: climate tipping points. What the editors wanted from me was a discussion about CDR – carbon dioxide removal, and SRM – solar radiation management. I was happy to give tell them that neither are credible options for getting warming back to 1.5°C.

The rest of the issue has excellent contributions about AMOC, overshoot, tipping dynamics and much more. In that respect it serves as a very useful reference for some elements of climate overshoot that the recent UNEP report put into focus. I had some thoughts about that UNEP report here.
