I will be joining the Global Day of Action on the 17th November, a worldwide initiative that works to connect legal clinics together in order to raise awareness for the climate emergency. This year’s event theme is “Decarbonization: A just transition. What does decarbonization actually entail? How quickly or easily can it be achieved? Can we compel governments to take action? How do we ensure that the most vulnerable in society don’t end up footing the bill for change – again?” I will be running a session on the morning of the 18th about derailment risks. This will include an examination of net zero, overshoot and probably geoengineering. I find these events fun and inspiring. When there seems to be so much bad news at the moment, it’s important to connect with others and realise you are not alone, that your values are shared, and that collectively we could – perhaps – help realise a much better world.
